RC 5.1 Released

Another major update is upon us. This one is RC 5.1 and brings about a myriad of new features, bug fixes, and improvements. The biggest are 3 new playable characters and a new voting system! Here is the complete changelog for 5.1!

- Implemented three new playable characters! (Lena, Bomb-Bomb Bear, and Steve)

- Implemented a new voting system. If enabled, players can call a vote on the server that affects the game if it passes.

- Implemented change map voting. When called, players can vote on changing to a different map for the same gamemode.

- Implemented map reset voting. When called, players can vote on resetting the map to the beginning.

- Implemented change game mode voting. When called, players can vote on changing to a different type of gamemode.

- Implemented kick player voting. Kick voting allows players to kick disruptive players from the server. If the vote passes, the offending player is kicked and banned from the server for 30 minutes

- Implemented mute player voting. Mute voting allows players to vote to mute a disruptive player. If the vote passes the player will be unable to chat for the rest of the match.

- New server option to force balancing of teams. When enabled players will be unable to join a team if there are too many players on it and will be forced to join a team with less players to ensure teams are balanced.

-New server option to prevent spectators from sending messages to players. When enabled spectators are unable to send messages to people who are playing the game.

-Implemented server banlist. Server hosts can now ban IP addresses and IP ranges (using the *) from their server.

- Implemented connect password for servers. Players will be unable to connect to the server unless they have the correct password.

- Implemented join password for servers. If a server has a join password players can connect and spectate without the password, but will be unable to join unless they have the correct password.

- Added a new Rat voice pack to the game.

-Implemented a new display timer that is at the top of the screen. It can be enabled or disabled via setting.

-Added camera damping (smoothing) back to the game. It can be controlled both horizontally and vertically via a setting.

-New settings implemented cursor alpha, cursor size, crosshair alpha, and crosshair size. All of these settings can be changed in the settings.

- The ability to set custom key bindings was broken. This has been fixed.

- Fixed a client crash caused by a scoreboard issue.

- Re-wrote the scoreboard logic. This fixes many bugs and also results in improved network bandwidth.

-Item pickups climbed and descended slopes at blinding speeds on the dedicated server build. This is now fixed.

- Fixed timing issues with homing rockets, boomerang fireballs, and item bubbles on dedicated server build.

-Spring and noteblocks are now correctly predicted on the client.

- When a player has a note block jump bonus, notes will now come out of their feet so that they'll know.

- Implemented new object, floating springs. They can move horizontally, vertically, diagonally, and in circles.

- Boomerang fireballs would sometimes get stuck on the server due to a null reference exception. This has been fixed.

- If a player died with the cape while flying or divebombing, the cape drawing order would be incorrect when they respawned and picked it back up. This is now fixed.

- To prevent abuse, each player must now have a unique name when playing. If a player tries to join with another player's name a number will be added at the end of their name to differentiate between them.

- Fixed lots of looped sounds getting stuck on the client.

- If a player was in the lava or fire when a map reset happens, they would take damage after the reset. This is now fixed.

- The main menu was broken on resolutions other than 1080. Fixed.

Fixes since last playtest

- Due to the scoreboard rewrite, the incorrect player could be displayed as the winner. This is fixed.

- Voting was calculated incorrectly due to an integer division bug. This is now fixed.

- Votes were allowed after a vote has finished. Fixed.

- Due to the scoreboard rewrite, fraglimits were broken. This is now fixed.

- In Clan Arena players could take damage after a round ends, and this would break the game, resulting in erroneous points awarded. This is fixed.
